Pocket Park

The Pocket Park is situated on the south side of Front Street on what was a bit of derelict land owned by the Co-Op. Spearheaded by PCP Trustees, Paul Murray and Richard Shrimpton, who worked with a number of volunteers to level the site and construct the planters.  Thank you to Thompsons of Prudhoe for providing relevant equipment to do the work effectively. The mural was painted by Sarah Jarman who gathered many admiring comments during the time she worked on the brilliant wall-art.

The opening ceremony took place in May 2021 with BBC Look North weatherman and local resident Paul Mooney cutting the ribbon and thanking everyone concerned with its construction.

The Pocket Park now provides a space to sit in the sunshine, chat with friends, enjoy a drink and a sandwich along with admiring the plants and trees growing there.  A picnic table and bench are there to extend the seating within the planters.  At night the whole area is lit with colourful lighting provided by Paul Hillary from CSN

The area is cared for by volunteers from the Traders and local residents providing a great space to rest and think.
